February Lush Haul and Review

Hi guys! So for my first 'proper' post on this blog I thought I would do a quick haul and show you what I bought recently from my FAVOURITE place on earth, Lush.

If you've never heard of Lush before (you must of been living under a rock for the past ten years) its a cosmetic company. I'm not very good at summing things up but on wikipedia it describes it pretty well 'Lush produces and sells a variety of handmade products, including soaps, shower gels and hair conditioners, bath bombs, bubble bombs, face masks, and hand and body lotions for various skin types.'

I absolutely love Lush and every single time I visit I find myself loading up my basket because everything in there smells so good. I wouldn't like to know how much of my money I have spent on there over the years because it would be a huge amount but I know that Lush is a brilliant company who make unique and amazing products so it is completely worth it. I visited my nearest store last Saturday and this is what I bought!

First up, I picked up the Dark Angels Lush face and body cleanser which was £6.75 for a 100g pot. This cleanser is brilliant as it works as a really good exfoliator and more of an absorbent cleanser to remove all of the dead skin cells and really brighten up the face. It uses black sugar and charcoal to exfoliate along with rhassoul mud to give your face that really deep cleanse feel.

Avocado oil and vegetable glycerine are also used in this product to help make your skin feel super balanced, moisturised and fresh. This product really does, like all Lush products, smell amazing, created by using sandalwood and rosewood oils to give a really kind of 'gritty' (if that makes sense) and 'earthly' scent to the cleanser. The cleanser appears black throughout and includes small little beads throughout which I think might be the charcoal.

Personally, I am a big fan of Lush cleansers as I really feel like they are like no other and this one defiantly lives up to expectations, I really love it and it does exactly what it says on the tin. It is an amazing exfoliator and leaves my skin feeling clean and bright, I wouldn't use it every single day as I think as an exfoliator you should give your skin a day or so break in-between using the product but defiantly an excellent cleanser that really works its magic to give you cleaner and brighter skin.

Next I managed to get my hands on the Cosmetic Warrior fresh face mask which was £6.50 for a 75g pot. I am always up for a change so have tried many of the Lush face masks before such as Cupcake, Mask of Magnanimity, Love Lettuce and Catastrophe Cosmetic and they really have all been different. I feel like some Lush face masks really are beneficial to my skin where as others just really aren't and kind of just sit on your face doing, well, not a lot.

The Cosmetic Warrior face mask caught my eye as it says its a gentle face mask to combat spots and as a teenager, I get plenty of spots so this really caught my eye! The mask includes antibacterial tea tree along with fresh garlic to cleanse the skin, fresh green grapes are also used to cleanse as well as cool the skin down during troubled times. Free range eggs are also used to tighten the skin's texture along with honey to leave it soft and moisturised.

This mask is really effective on my skin and left my skin feeling really fresh and clean, I also love how it leaves your skin with that soft feeling and it's not too harsh for sensitive skin. I can see this really working on my skin to clean up troubled areas and even out my complexion. I am not the keenest on the scent of the product however as it smells really really  strongly of honey which is a bit over powering when it's on your face. Apart from that it is easy to apply and remove and is an overall effective face mask to really clear up your skin.

Next, I picked up the Honey Trap lip balm which came to £5.75 for a 8g small pot. I was on youtube the other week and stumbled across Emma Blackery's 'how to prevent/get rid of spots' video, whilst talking about everything skincare Emma mentioned about dry lips and how good Lush lip balms were, they do not control petroleum jelly unlike most drugstore lip balms. Petroleum jelly tricks the lips into thinking that their moisturised when they are not, drying them out even more.

Unlike petroleum jelly lip balms, the Honey Trap lip balm includes many amazing ingredients to treat dry lips; 'White chocolate balm for vanilla honey kisses.' Honey and oatmeal are used to sooth the lips along with white chocolate to soften. Shea butter is also a main ingredient which is good for nourishing and hydrating the lips put together to form the excellent pair with beeswax to cleanse and moisturise the lips.

I really really do love this lip balm, as a sufferer of dry lips this stuff is heaven. First I was a bit put off by the price for such a small pot but seriously a little of this stuff goes along way and since using it I've been finding myself needed to apply much less throughout the day and being able to leave my lips for long periods of time without them feeling dry. The Honey Trap balm is nice and thick in texture, it also tastes amazing with an amazing white chocolate scent and smell. I defiantly recommend this to everyone suffering with dry lips and struggling to find something that actually works, worth every penny and I know this will last me a long time!

As a huge lover of a nice relaxing bath, the bath bombs/bars have to be one of my favourite things in the whole of Lush! I got the Honey Bee bath bomb and the Unicorn Horn bath bar. I haven't actually used these 2 products yet so I cannot really write a review (I'm pretty sure they're amazing just like all Lush bath products) but I thought I would tell you about the products and some initial thoughts.

First up, the Honey Bee bath bomb which was £3.35, I somehow managed to pick a lot of honey-related products on this Lush trip. Theres nothing better than a bath bomb to really lift your mood and create a relaxing and much more fun bath. The Honey Bee bath bomb includes a range of insane products such as honey, which is moisturising and antiseptic, aloe vera, to soothe and soften the skin, along with rhassoul mud to cleanse and also sweet wild orange oil which is refreshing and uplifting. I can't wait to use this bath bomb as it looks like it will make my skin feel amazing, I also love the style and also the really rich honey scent.

Next, I picked up from the Unicorn Horn bath bar from the valentine's day goodies for the price of £3.25. I really love bath bars as unlike bath bombs, you don't use them all at once, you crumble them sections at a time under hot running water to create an amazing looking and smelling bubble bath. First off, the smell and look of this bubble bar are incredible! I'd seen so much hype online about it and knew it was one of everybody's new favourites so I had to get my hands on it. The Unicorn Horn bath bar includes lavender oil which is balancing and calming along with neroli oil which is uplifting and toning. Bath bars are really worth the money as like I said you can use a bit at the time and get a couple of baths just out of one bar, I really look forward to using this!

That's it for my February Lush haul and review, I hope this helped some of you out and that you found this interesting!

See you next time, Tom x
